The second generation Audi A4 made the production line in late 2000. The 1.6 litre engine remained the same however most of the others gained power upgrades or increases in deplacement. In 2003 the second generation S4 was released with a major engine upgrade, an all new 4.2 Litre V8 engine. The A4 was revised in 2004 and although a new platform designation was introduced, the new A4 B7 was basically a majorly facelifted B6. New steering and suspension were installed, new engines and an electronic stability programme was installed for the chassis, this A4 also had an upgrade from the 5 speed box to a getrag 6 speed manual.
